Shannon McLaughlin

Partner

Shannon is a legal problem solver with substantial experience and expertise in property transactions, commercial leasing, estate planning and administration, as well as all forms of commercial work. With over 17 years’ experience practicing in all areas of commercial law, Shannon is driven to obtain the best outcome for his clients.

Shannon was admitted to practice in 2005 after completing his five year articled clerkship and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws (majoring in the Commercial Stream) from the Queensland University of Technology and an MBA from Bond University.

Shannon is a passionate Gold Coaster having been born in Southport Hospital. Shannon’s Mother and Grandfather were also raised on the Gold Coast and Shannon is pleased to call himself a fourth Generation Gold Coaster. Straight after school Shannon obtained a job as an Articled Clerk at a highly respected Gold Coast Firm before being admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.

The practical effect of his extensive and diversified legal education is the depth of knowledge Shannon can apply for the benefit of his clients. Shannon believes that, by virtue of his studies, he is better able to give comprehensive advice and quality service to his clients.

Suzette Araneta

Partner

Suzette has experience in property, commercial law and estate planning in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia. Her experience in property and commercial law includes advising developers, land owners, farmers, business owners and private individuals in the areas of property development, commercial and retail shop leasing, commercial and residential conveyancing, business acquisitions and sales, community titles schemes, property development structuring and titling, trusts and general commercial transactions.

Suzette was admitted to practice in 2011 after completing her Juris Doctorate from Bond University. Suzette also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters degree in Forensic Science.

Peter Snelgar

Partner

Peter is a Senior Associate of the firm and manages our Chinderah Office in Northern New South Wales. 

Personally practicing in commercial and property law, Peter’s files encompass a broad range of commercial transactions from conveyances and leasing through to business and commercial contracts such as franchising and corporate restructuring. 

Originally from Newcastle, Peter is greatly experienced in both New South Wales and Queensland law and regularly operates on both sides of the border.

Unlike many solicitors, Peter’s great passion for the job lies in drafting and amending contracts and other legal documents.

Much to the dismay of many in our firm, Peter is a passionate collector of luxury watches and can often be found trawling various online fora for eye-watering “bargains”.

Jessica Beer

Solicitor

Jessica is a Graduate Solicitor assisting our NSW office in a variety of matters with a current primary focus on property (both commercial & residential). Jessica was admitted to the Supreme Court of QLD in August 2019.

Away from law Jess is a huge sports fanatic, having previously worked in sports management at both an events and individual athlete level. She is passionate about athletes being better equipped to navigate the changing commercial landscapes of professional sport in Australia, as well as the growth (from a commercial perspective) of women’s sport. On the weekends you will find her enjoying the beach, a long lunch or watching a live sporting event.

Aimee Turner

Solicitor

Aimee was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in August 2020 after graduating university. Aimee mainly focuses on property law in the areas of residential and off the plan conveyancing. Aimee has a strong understanding within property law and is starting to gain more experience in other areas of law.

In her spare time Aimee enjoys keeping fit and hanging out with her friends and family.

Solicitor

Jason is a registered solicitor in Queensland, and he mainly focuses on property. Jason has a strong understanding of property law and is starting to gain more experience in other areas of law. In his spare time, he enjoys play boxing and Muay Thai.

Nina has over 25 years of conveyancing experience and her career really is her passion. Her aim has always been to make the conveyancing journey experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible whether clients are buying or selling.

Over the years many of Nina’s clients have become personal friends and have returned with repeat business and/or referrals.

Deborah Robbins

Conveyancing Manager

Deborah is a Senior Property Conveyancer with over 30 years’ experience on the Gold Coast, having successfully settled thousands of property transactions.
Deborah has an extremely strong work ethic and aims to provide the highest level of professional service possible to each of her clients.


Deborah specialises in property transactions for Property Developers and Management and Lettings Rights contracts.

In her spare time she enjoys Dragon Boat Racing and catching up with her friends and family.

Sonja Dickmann

Conveyancing Manager

Working for 9 years at a number of well regarded firms in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, Sonja has focused on property and estate law. As a Justice of the Peace since 2009, she is happy to assist you.

She spent six years travelling and working in Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe. While abroad, she worked for Rothshild, as well as an international company where she was responsible for the smooth running of the Netherlands branch and a team from 9 countries.

Having returned in 2020, she is back and eager to build relationships with her clients. With a sympathetic ear, she understands this can be a stressful time for most. Gaining a range of skills throughout her varied career, Sonja prides herself on assisting her clients achieve the best possible result in a confident and timely manner.

In her free time you will find Sonja at the beach, travelling or embarking on new adventures wherever possible.

Kristee Allen

Conveyancing Practice Manager

Kristee has 14 years’ experience in all aspects of conveyancing transactions in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia. Kristee’s role is to continue to assist clients with their property development and general commercial real estate transactions.

In Kristee’s spare time she is a mum to her two sons and enjoys kite surfing, jet skis and long lunches.

Jazzie Payne

Conveyancer

Jazzie commenced with CJM Lawyers in March 2019. Starting out as the firm's Receptionist and successfully completing her Cert III in Business Administration (Legal), Jazzie has progressed in her role to become a Junior Conveyancer and is working towards becoming a fully licenced Conveyancer.

Jazzie is currently completing her Justice of the Peace requirements to be a certified QLD JP and aspires to further her knowledge and training in the course of her career.

Jazzie was born and raised in the Tweed Heads region and her passions include travel, music and animals.

Rikkilee has worked in property law for over 4 years, focusing largely on house and land packages and working with SMSF purchases. With attention to detail, Rikkilee works effectively under pressure and ensures all her client’s needs are met in an auspicious manner.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her Fiancé and baby girl.
